Egyptian Superleague round 16 best performance: Madarious Gibbs (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Madarious Gibbs (185-G-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for Canal Sporting Club Cairo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Al Shams (#12, 4-7) with 22-point margin 70-48. Canal maintains the 3rd position in Egyptian Superleague. They are still close to the very top. Canal would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. In the team's last game Gibbs had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Canal's top player in his first season with the team. Former Texas Southern University star has very solid stats this year. Gibbs is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.5ppg), assists (5th best: 4.9apg) and averages impressive 51.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international guard Ehab Amin (193-G-1995) of league's second-best Al Ahly Cairo. Amin had a very good evening with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Al Ahly to edge the lower-ranked Zamalek (#8, 5-6) 89-88. This victory allowed Al Ahly to move up to second position in the standings. His team belongs to top of the standings with 10-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Amin is well-known at Al Ahly and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Canal's star - Omar Abdelhameed. Abdelhameed scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Canal Sporting Club Cairo, helping his team with a 70-48 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Shams (#12, 4-7). Abdelhameed has a very solid season. In 6 games in Egypt he scored 9.7ppg. He also has 4.7rpg and and 3PT: 40.7%.
