American Guard Madarious Gibbs (185-G-1993) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Canal Sporting Club Cairo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Al Geish (#4, 5-1) 67-66. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Canal is placed at 2nd position in Egyptian Superleague. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Canal keeps a perfect 7-0 record. In the team's last game Gibbs had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Canal's top player in his first season with the team. Former Texas Southern University star has very solid stats this year. Gibbs is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.0ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was Ayman Rasmy of Heliopolis Cairo. Rasmy had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Heliopolis to another comfortable win 82-69 over the lower-ranked Al Shams (#14, 1-6) being unquestionably team leader. Heliopolis' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Rasmy is a newcomer at Heliopolis, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Heliopolis' star - Mahmoud Shershaby. Shershaby showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Heliopolis Cairo, helping his team with a 82-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Shams (#14, 1-6). Heliopolis needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Shershaby has a great season in Egypt. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.3rpg (2nd best).
