Defending champion Al Ittihad Alexandria (Superleague) agreed terms with 32-year old South Sudanese international forward Majok Deng (205cm-84kg-1993, college: ULM) for new 2025-26 season. It is actually his comeback to Alexandria as he has played here before. He played last season at Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabian SBL league. In three West Asia Super League games he had very impressive stats: 20.3ppg and 7.0rpg. He also played for Al Ittihad Alexandria earlier that season. The other team he played shortly was JackJumpers (NBL) in Australian league.
Deng has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He also represented South Sudan at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) last year. During this event, he scored an average of 3 ppg and had 3 rpg.
His career allowed him to visit three different continents. Deng tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Australia, Africa, and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia (Adelaide 36ers, Taipans, Pioneers, Marlins, and Forestville Eagles), Saudi Arabia, and Libya (Ahly Benghazi).
He won an Australian NBL championship title in 2024. Deng was voted to Afrobasket.com All-Basketball Africa League Honorable Mention in 2024.
He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2016 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player. Deng played also for Indian Hills Community College for one year.
