Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old British ex-international 211cm center Kavell Bigby-Williams (college: LSU).
He started the season at Jilin Northeast Tigers in Chinese CBA league. In 35 games he recorded 13.4ppg, 7.9rpg and 1.0bpg.
Part of this summer he spent at North Port Batang Pier (PBA) in Filipino league. He also played for Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) in Libyan league.
He was also a member of the British international program for some years. Bigby-Williams played for British Senior National Team between 2017 and 2022 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2015.
He also represented United Kingdom at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers two years ago. During this event he scored an average of 3.2 points per game and had 1.6 rebounds per game.
Bigby-Williams is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America) in eleven different countries. He has played previously professionally in Belgium (Antwerp Giants), Dominican Republic (Indios), France (Boulazac Basket), Italy (Cantu), Mexico (Astros), Philippines, Poland, Taiwan (Steelers), Venezuela (Bigby-Williamsroes) and NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce, Indiana Mad Ants and Erie BH).
Among many awards he played in the final of Mexican CIBACOPA in 2024. He was also voted to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican CIBACOPA Center of the Year in 2024.
Bigby-Williams graduated from Louisiana State University in 2019 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges like: University of Oregon, Gillette College.
