Janae Barnes (ex El Ward) joins Valletta

Janae Barnes

Valletta Lioneses (Women League) agreed terms with 29-year old American guard Janae Barnes (183cm-1995, college: Johnson CCC) for new 2024-25 season. She is the second foreign player in the roster as Serbian Milica Stefanovic signed here earlier.
She played last season at El Ward in Egyptian Superleague.
The previous (2023) summer she played at Real Esteli in Nicaraguan LSBF where in 14 games she had 13.9ppg, 7.6rpg, 1.8apg and 2.1spg in 2023 year. She helped them to make it to the Nicaraguan League final. Good season as she was named League Player of the Week (2 times) and named to Latinbasket.com All-Nicaraguan LSBF Second Team.
She is quite experienced player. Barnes' career allowed her to visit three different continents, while she played in five different countries. Barnes tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. She has played previously professionally in Kosovo (Bashkimi), Mexico (Plateras), Albania (Berleti), WABA (Lady Magic) and WUBA (NorCal Raiders and Hollywood Wonder).
Her team won Albanian Cup in 2022.
Barnes attended Johnson County Community College until 2015 and it will be her tenth season as a professional player.
