Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) signed 30-year-old Egyptian-American international 167cm point guard Reem Moussa (college: Rice) for the upcoming season. It marks her return to Cairo, where she previously played. Moussa has spent the last three years playing for Sporting in the Superleague.
She has also been a member of the Egyptian international program for some years. Moussa has regularly played for the Egyptian senior team since 2019 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2011.
She also represented Egypt at the Third Arab Woman to Win a European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) seven years ago. During this event she scored an average of 3 ppg and had rpg.
Moussa is a very experienced player. She has traveled quite a bit during her pro career, playing in five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Africa, and North America). Moussa has played professionally in Portugal (Coimbra), Czech Republic (KP Brno), Portugal, Egypt (Al Gezira and Somouha), and WBDA (Dallas C.). She played in the final of the Egyptian League in 2024.
Among many awards, she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Mediterranean Cup Honorable Mention back in 2018.
Moussa graduated from Rice University in 2015 and it'll be her tenth season in pro basketball.
