Al Shams Cairo strengthened their roster with the addition of experienced 35-year-old ex-international 182cm point guard Mouhanad Elsabagh, who is represented by Interperformances. He started the season at Somouha in the Superleague. D2 will be a better match for him and he can expect to see more playing time.
He also repped Egypt at the FIBA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers 5 years ago.

His stats at that event were 4 games: 5.0ppg, 1.0rpg.

He has spent his entire career in Egypt playing for two other teams: Al Ahly Cairo and Ashab Aljead.

His team made it to the League Semifinals in 2023. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Al Shams.
