Ghaz Al-Shamal tabs Sara Dickey, ex AEL

Sara Dickey

Ghaz Al-Shamal (1 League) signed Sara Dickey, a 28-year-old American swingman who stands at 177cm tall. Dickey played college basketball at Evansville. Prior to joining Ghaz Al-Shamal, she played for Asbis AEL Limassol in the Cypriot Division A. In 13 games, she had impressive averages of 20.1 points per game, 6.7 rpg, 6.4 apg, and 2.5 spg. Dickey was also named League Player of the Week three times.
She's a highly experienced player, having played professionally in six different countries across four continents: Europe, Australia, Africa, and North America. Her previous professional stints include playing for the Lightning in Australia, Boa Viagem and Vitoria SC - Guimaraes in Portugal, Brasov in Romania, Ostrava in the Czech Republic, and Misr Insurance and El Tayaran in Egypt.
Her team reached the Romanian League Semifinals in 2021, earning her team numerous awards. In addition, she was honored with the Eurobasket.com All-Romanian League Honorable Mention in the same year.
She graduated from the University of Evansville in 2017, and this is her seventh season in professional basketball.
