The Capital inked 26-year-old Australian forward Bride Kennedy-Hopoate for the upcoming season. She played at N.Mexico in college. She most recently played for NGC Seahawks in Australian NBL One North North.

Last season, in 19 NBL One South games, she averaged 12.7ppg, 5.9rpg, and 1.3apg.

Ten years ago, she represented Australia at the World Championships U17 for Women in the Czech Republic. Her statistics at that event were as follows: 7 games played, averaging 5.4 points per game, 2.9 rpg, a field goal percentage (FGP) of 43.8%, and a free throw percentage (FT) of 76.9%.

She is a highly experienced player who has traveled extensively due to her professional career. She has played in four different continents, including Asia, Australia, Africa, and North America. In Australia, she has played for teams such as the Pirates, Flames, and Roar. She also had professional stints in Syria with Al Thawra, Mozambique with Costa do Sol, and Egypt with El Ward.

Her college team reached the FIBA African Champions Cup final in 2022.
She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2020, and this will be her fourth season in professional basketball. She also played for other colleges such as Iowa State University and Hutchinson Community College.
