Al Gezira lands Khadija Brown-Haywood, ex Plateras

Khadija Brown-Haywood

Al Gezira Cairo (Superleague) has signed Khadija Brown-Haywood, a 29-year-old American guard from Arkansas State, for the upcoming season. Brown-Haywood was the leading scorer for Plateras in the Mexican LNBPF last season, averaging an impressive 16.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in 24 games played. Her performance earned her a spot on the Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBPF Second Team, making it a highly successful season for her.

Thanks to pro basketball, she has experienced life on three different continents and is familiar with European, Latin American, and North American leagues. She has previously played professionally in Kosovo for Bashkimi and in Nicaragua for Jaguares. In 2023, her team won the Liga Unike Regular Season.
She graduated from Arkansas State University in 2016, and this upcoming season will mark her eighth season playing professional basketball.
