Al Ittihad lands Shannon Shorter

Al Ittihad Alexandria (Superleague) tabbed experienced 34-year old American 193cm shooting guard Shannon Shorter (college: N.Texas) for new season. Shorter played this summer at Bivouac (Big3) in the U.S. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). First he played at KK Split in Croatian Premijer Liga where in 37 games he was league's fifth best scorer with impressive 16.1ppg and recorded 6.3rpg, 3.1apg and 1.6spg (leader !!!). Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week (4 times). Shorter also played 25 games in ABA League where he averaged remarkable 17.9ppg, 6.5rpg, 3.3apg and 2.1spg.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in twelve different countries playing on five different continents. Shorter is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Argentina (La Union), Australia (Adelaide 36ers), China (Shorterbei), France (Le Mans), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki), Israel (Hapoel Kfar Saba/Shalom and Hapoel Afula), Japan (Chiba Jets and Hiroshima Dragonflies), Lebanon (Al Riyadi), Mexico (Ostioneros de Guaymas and Gansos), Turkey (TED Ankara and Afyon), South Korea (Mobis Phoebus and KoGas) and The Basketball Tournament (Tri-State Titans, Aftershocks and Bleed Green).
Among many awards he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Croatian Premijer Liga Guard of the Year in 2022.
He graduated from University of North Texas in 2012 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball. Shorter played also for Paris Junior College for one year.
