Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) signed 28-year old Egyptian ex-international power forward Moustafa Elmekawi (204cm-1994, agency: Diamond Sports) for upcoming 2023-24 season.


Elmekawi played this summer at Al Shamal in Qatari QBL league. In 17 games just recently he had 14.4ppg, 13.9rpg, 13.9apg and 2.1spg.

He helped them to make it to the Qatari League final. 2023-23 was a great season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com Qatar D1 All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (3 times).


The last season he played at Zamalek where in 17 Superleague games he recorded 14.4ppg and 13.9rpg


Elmekawi also represented Egypt at the Afrobasket Championship six years ago. His stats at that event were 3 games: 7.7ppg, 5.0rpg, FGP: 62.5%, FT: 50.0%.
He is a very experienced player.
