Egypt - Nigeria 65:83

The defending champions conquered Group D of the AfroBasket 2023. Nigeria advanced to the next stage with an 83-65 win over Egypt that finished with a 1-1 record. Nigeria started with an 18-10 run and added a massive 24-13 run in the second period. Egypt replied with a 19-14 rally in the third quarter, while Nigeria nailed 27 points in the last stanza to seal the win.
Amy Okonkwo (188-F-1996, college: TCU) stepped up with 29 points and Murjanatu Musa (187-C-2000) delivered 18. Meral Abdelgawad (180-G-1998, college: WKU) answered with 19 points in defeat and Raneem Elgedawy (193-F-1997, college: WKU) added 15.
