Defending champion Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) landed experienced 34-year old New Zealander international 188cm guard Corey Webster (college: Lambuth). Webster started the season at Mornar in Montenegrin Erste Liga. In three games he averaged 10.3ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.0apg.
He has been also a member of New Zealand international program for some years. Webster has regularly played for New Zealand senior team since 2008 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2006.
He represented New Zealand at the FIBA Oceania Championship 24 years ago. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 2 games: Score-1 (19.0ppg), 1.5rpg, Assists-5 (2.5apg), Steals-3 (1.0spg).
Webster is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and of course North America). Webster has played previously professionally in Australia (Perth Wildcats and New Zealand Breakers), China (Guangsha Lions and Guizhou), Greece (Koroivos), Israel (Ironi Nahariya), Italy (RO Virtus), Serbia, New Zealand (Heat, Saints and Bulls) and Egypt (Al Ittihad). He won New Zealand NBL championship title in 2011, 2014 and 2017. He was voted to Australiabasket.com New Zealand NBL All-Domestic Players Team in 2010, 2014, 2017 and 2022.
Webster attended Lambuth University until 2008 and it is his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
