Zamalek inks O.J. Mayo, ex UNICS- December 7, 2022
The previous (2020-21) season he played at Flying Leopards in Chinese CBA. In 56 games he averaged impressive 19.6ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.9apg and 1.4spg in that year. He contributed to his team making it to the Chinese CBA final after they ended regular season as second best team. Good year as he was named League Player of the Week and named to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Second Team. In 2008 he was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) as #3 pick overall. The former University of Southern California star is in his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball. Mayo is quite experienced player. Mayo's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in four different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Mayo has played previously professionally in Puerto Rico (Atleticos), Taiwan (Dacin Tigers and Fubon Braves), NBA (Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies) and China (Hunan). He was voted to Taiwanese All-Star Game back in 2019.
