Al Gezira signs Douglas Herring Jr.

The last time (19-20) he played at Zhuhai in Chinese ASEAN. He missed last season due to covid-19 restrictions and had longer break from professional basketball. He was called to Syrian Senior National Team this year.

Herring is quite experienced player. He has played in seven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Herring has played previously professionally in Canada (Moncton Magic, London Lightning and Windsor Express), France (Orchesien BC), Indonesia (CLS Knights), United Kingdom (Bristol Acadamy Flyers), Uruguay (Defensor), PBA (RazorSharks) and APBL (Hudson Valley).

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won ASEAN League championship title in 2019. He was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-ASEAN League 2nd Team in 2019.
Herring attended Utica College until 2009 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player.

He could be described: A talented player who has the rare combination of being a devastating scorer but he also makes the right basketball plays. Compared to Paul Pierce by some of his friends, in fact he can resemble some of the Pierce's game..
