Lucas is back at Heliopolis

Heliopolis Cairo (Superleague) added to their roster 31-year old Angolan international shooting guard Italee Lucas (172-89, college: UNC). It is actually her comeback to Cairo as she has played here before. Lucas is a dual citizen owning also American passport. She played last season at Al Ahly in the Superleague. She helped them to win the League title despite they ended the regular season at the second place.
In 2011 Lucas was drafted by Tulsa Shock (WNBA) in second round (21st overall).
The former University of North Carolina star is in her tenth season in pro basketball. She has been regularly called to Angolan Senior National Team since 2017.
Lucas is quite experienced player. Her career allowed her to visit three different continents, while she played in five different countries. Lucas tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Africa and of course North America. She has played previously professionally in Hungary (Miskolc), Israel, Romania (Satu Mare), Spain (Hondarribia Irun, IDK Eustotren and Argon Uni Girona) and Angola (Inter-Clube).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Lucas was voted Afrobasket.com All-Afrobasket 2nd Team in 2019.
