Kayla Thornton signs at Al Ahly

Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) landed 27-year old American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP). She played in the summer at Dallas Wings (WNBA). In 22 games she averaged 7.3ppg and 5.1rpg. The last season Thornton played at KB Stars in South Korean league.
And here thanks to pro basketball she experienced life on four different continents. She is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Thornton has played previously professionally in Israel (Maccabi Ramat Gan), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeras) and South Korea (Hana 1Q Bucheon and S-Birds). Thornton received also Asia-Basket.com All-Korean WKBL 1st Team award in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
She won Korean WKBL championship title in 2019.
She attended University of Texas at El Paso until 2014 and it will be her seventh season in pro basketball.
