Ahmed Hamdy (ex Rivers Hoopers) agreed terms with Al Ahly

Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old Egyptian forward Ahmed Hamdy (206-104kg-93, college: TCU). He was supposed to play with Rivers Hoopers the club from Nigeria in Basketball Africa League before the competition got cancelled due the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hamdy was a member of Egyptian U19 National Team back in 2011.
He has played also professionally in Georgia (Rustavi).
Among many awards Hamdy played in the final of Atlantic 10 Tournament for two years in a row (2016 and 2017). He received also Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Honorable Mention award in 2019.
Worth to mention Hamdy played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him to get the job in pro basketball.
He attended Texas Christian University until 2018 and it will be his third season in pro basketball.
