After the end of the local season of basketball competitions, a number of league clubs concluded deals with players in exchange for dispensing with others.
The basketball competition committee is due to announce the start of the new season following the World Cup qualifiers in July.

Al Ettehad Alexandria
The officials of the Al Ettehad Alexandria raised the slogan of the return of migratory birds and recovered the three players who departed during the last seasons. Rami Ibrahim and Ahmed Al Sabbagh of Al Zamalek and Haitham Kamal of Sporting Alexandria were also signed. The club also recovered Mohamed Ali Hassan, "Moody" American Universities

Al Ahly Cairo
At the level of Al Ahly Cairo basketball team, Al Ahly Cairo club contracted only with two players, Hatem El Behairy of Al Ettehad Alexandria and Mustafa Meshaal of Misr Insurance.

Al Gezira Cairo
Al Gezira Cairo, the officials contracted the club with 3 players are Muhannad al-Sabbagh, the former Ahly player, and Moataz Okasha of Al Zamalek, in addition to Mustafa Shaw'at player of the army.

Al Zamalek
Al Zamalek basket team was led by Issam Abdel Hamid, the coach of the current players, despite the departure of the two Rami Ibrahim and Ahmed Al Sabbagh to Al Ettehad Alexandria.and Moataz Okasha to the island.

Sporting Alexandria
As in Al Zamalek Sporting Alexandria took place, the Alexandrian team did not contract with any player, except for the strength that did not change from last season, unlike the departure of Haitham Kamal to Al Ettehad Alexandria.

TODD O'BRIEN Defending champion Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) landed 29-year old American (has also Armenian passport) center Todd O'Brien (211-110kg-89, college: UAB). He played recently with Ahly Tripoli in Libyan D1 league and Won Arab Club Championship with Al Ettehad Alexandria few weeks ago. Actually Todd replaced the former American in the team Quinton Doggett(206-F-90, college: Southern) who got released already. BAHRAIN suffered a disheartening 64-74 loss last night to defending champions Egypt in the 23rd Arab Men's Basketball Championship in Cairo. Egypt hold off Algeria in opener - 13 days ago
HOSTS Egypt defeated Algeria 69-62 last night in the opening game of the 23rd Arab Men's Basketball Championship, being held in Cairo. The Egyptians held a narrow 51-47 lead heading into the final quarter and did well to close the game out and make a winning start. Tournament action continues today with two games on the cards.
