Sporting Crowned Egypt Women's Basketball Cup Champions-Apr 20, 2026
Sporting were crowned champions of the Egypt Women’s Basketball Cup after defeating arch-rivals Al Ahly 82–70 in the final held at Dr. Hassan Mostafa Hall in 6th of October City.
Al Ahly started strongly, taking the first quarter 25–20 and extending their lead to 41–35 at halftime.
However, Sporting mounted an impressive comeback in the third quarter, overturning the deficit to lead 58–54, before pulling away in the final period to secure an 82–70 victory and lift the title.
Heliopolis claimed the bronze medal after defeating Al Gezira 69–65 in the third-place playoff held earlier at the same venue.
Sporting reached the final after a dominant 96–70 win over Heliopolis in the semi-finals, while Al Ahly advanced with an 84–68 victory over Al Gezira.
Sporting’s comeback performance highlighted their resilience and determination, sealing a memorable triumph over their biggest rivals
