Mokango comes back to Gernika

Lointek-Gernika-Bizkaia (LF Endesa) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 34-year old Congolese ex-international 188cm power forward Chanel Mokango (college: MSU). It is actually her comeback to Gernika as she has played here before. Mokango played most recently at Elazig Il in Turkish TKBL. In 16 KBSL games she recorded very impressive stats: 15.9ppg, 8.8rpg and 1.9apg last season. Great year indeed as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish KBSL Honorable Mention. She also played for Innova-TSN Leganes in Spanish LF Endesa. But in 6 games she averaged just 1.8ppg and 1.2rpg.
In 2010 she was drafted by Atlanta Dream (WNBA) in first round (9th overall).
The former Mississippi State University standout is in her 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball. Mokango was a member of Congolese Senior National Team between 2017 and 2019.
She is a very experienced player. Mokango has played also professionally in Belgium, Hungary (Miskolc and Cegledi), WNBA (LA Sparks) and Spain (Zamarat and Logrono). She was also selected to SEC All-Defensive Team back in 2009 and 2010.
Mokango played in the final of Hungarian League in 2019.
