Hainaut welcomes back Akonga Nsimbo

Union Saint-Amand Porte du Hainaut (LFB) landed experienced 38-year old Congolese international center Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management). It is actually her comeback to Saint-Amand as she has played here before. Akonga Nsimbo supposed to play at CFM Ferroviaro Maputo in Mozambican D1 league. In three African Champions Cup games she averaged 15.0ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.7apg and 2.3spg last season. The last season Akonga Nsimbo played at Hainaut where in 27 games she had very impressive stats: 15.4ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.3apg. It was a very successful season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-French LFB Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. Akonga Nsimbo's team won African Champions Cup in 2016 and 2019.
Among other achievements she received Eurobasket.com All-French LFB Forward of the Year award back in 2011. Akonga Nsimbo has been regularly called to Congolese Senior National Team since 2017.
She is a very experienced player. Akonga Nsimbo has quite traveled the world as her pro career brought her to five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Africa and of course North America). Akonga Nsimbo has played previously professionally in Belgium (Belfius Namur), Portugal (Olivais), WNBA (Houston C.), France (Villeneuve D'Ascq and Arras) and Angola (Inter-Clube).
She is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at Hainaut.
