Kenya Ports Authority (Premier League) signed 32-year old Congolese international power forward Betty Kalanga (188-87). The last time (14-15) she played at CSP Circulacion in Tunisian D1 league.
Kalanga's team made it to the Tunisian final in 2015. She was called to Congolese Senior National Team this year.
Kalanga is quite experienced player. She has played in four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Africa and of course North America). Kalanga has played previously professionally in Romania (CSM Targoviste), DR Congo (Lupopo) and Ivory Coast (Abidijan Basketball Club).
She could be described: Betty is an inside player able to play like 5 and 4. She has the skills to play facing the basket but also with her back to the basket. Very high stability of her middle range shoot. Also able to shoot from the 3pts range. Betty is a very quick player with an explosive first step, impossible to stop her first dribble to the basket. Great rebounder. Hard worker and serious like a team player, always with her eyes open to deliver an assist. Betty is a talent like is her compatriot Pauline AKONGA.
