Nigeria's women national basketball team D'Tigeres have strolled into the semifinal of the 2019 Afrobasket after mauling DR Congo 79-46 in a quarterfinal match played today at the Dakar Arena in Senegal. D'Tigress continued their impressive run of form blitzering fellow three-time champions on Thursday. Ezinne Kalu (173-G-92, college: SSU) again was at her best as she posted 17 points, dished out 2 assists and stole five balls. Two other players chalked double figure numbers; Ezinne Kalu 11 points and Victoria Macaulay (193-F/C-90, college: Temple) 14 for a combined 42 points of the 79 points haul. The D'Tigress however has to make adjustment in the semifinal as they edge closer to their fourth Afrobasket title and a back to back finish. D'Tigress dominated play as the shared the ball within themselves their 19/11 assists a testament to that. They were very smart with their possessions as they only turned the ball over 9 times while the Congolese did 34 times.
