Here is the weekly review of the top performing DR Congolese players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Christian Eyenga (201-89, currently plays in Spain). He led Baloncesto Fuenlabrada to an overtime victory over the sixth-ranked CB Canarias (17-17) 88-84 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Eyenga was MVP of the game. He recorded 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 39 minutes on the court. Montakit Fuenlabradais placed in the Liga Endesa. Eyenga has relatively good stats this year: 11.3ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 52.0%, 3FGP: 30.2% and FT: 72.8% in 31 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the DR Congolese senior national team.

Ruphin Kayembe
   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Ruphin Kayembe (201-92, currently plays in France). He could not help ALM Evreux (13-21) in their last game. Despite Kayembe's good performance ALM Evreux was crushed 107-74 on the road by the higher-ranked (#6) Saint Chamond. He recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 27 minutes. The Regular Season already ended. This year Kayembe has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 59.7%(86-144), 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 57.9% in 20 games. He has a dual citizenship: DR Congolese and Belgian. Kayembe is in the roster of the DR Congolese senior national team.

Omari Gudul
   #3. The DR Congolese player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Omari Gudul (206-94, agency: Octagon Europe, college: Angelo St., currently plays in France). He was the major contributor in a 3-point ADA Blois' victory against the closely-ranked Sluc Nancy (22-12) 70-67 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. Gudul recorded 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. ADA Blois Basket 41 (19-15) is placed eighth in the ProB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Gudul's first season with the team. He has reliable stats this year: 11.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 2FGP: 54.5% and FT: 66.7%. Gudul is also a member of the DR Congolese senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89, currently plays in France) was not able to help Caen in their game against Chorale de Roanne (26-8) in the French ProB (second division). He recorded 5 points. Caen was crushed 95-51 at home by the leading Chorale de Roanne. It was Caen's sixth consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Ona-Embo's stats this season are: 15.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.4apg. He is another player who holds two passports: DR Congolese and French. Worth to mention Ona-Embo played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Ona-Embo is also DR Congolese national team player.


The list of other players, who all have DR Congolese passport but never been selected to any of DR Congolese national teams:

   #1. Experienced Charles Kahudi (199-SF-86, currently plays in France) contributed to an ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's victory against the 16th-ranked Le Mans (10-24) 70-63 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA last Monday. Kahudi scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (27-7) is placed first in the Jeep ELITE ProA. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. It's Kahudi's fourth season with the team. This year he averages: 8.7ppg and 4.0rpg. Kahudi has a dual citizenship: DR Congolese and French.

   #2. Wen Boss Mukubu (198-F-83, college: UAB, currently plays in Belgium) led Limburg United to a 2-point victory over the closely-ranked Spirou Charleroi (24-12) 103-101 in the Belgian Euromillions League on Sunday night. He was the best player in that game. Mukubu scored 32 points (!!!) in 25 minutes. Hubo Limburg United (16-20) is placed sixth in the Euromillions League. This year Mukubu averages: 7.6ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.5apg in 26 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: DR Congolese and Belgian.

   #3. Guy Muya (193-PG-83, currently plays in Belgium) led Basic-Fit Brussels to a victory against the closely-ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (17-19) 75-61 in the Belgian Euromillions League in Friday night's game. Muya recorded 13 points. Basic-Fit Brussels (21-15) is placed fourth in the Euromillions League. It's Muya's fourth season with the team. This year he averages: 5.2ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.6apg. Muya has both DR Congolese and Belgian nationalities.

   #4. Brandon Kuba (198-F-98, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Monthey (2-3) crushing them 112-67 in the Swiss SBL in Tuesday night's game. He scored 6 points in only 5 minutes. Fribourg Olympic (5-0) is placed first in Places 1-6 group. So far his team won all five games in the Semi-Finals. This year Kuba's overall stats are: 1.7ppg and 1.3rpg in six games. He also holds two passports: DR Congolese and Swiss.

   #5. Ethienne Kazungu (F-80, currently plays in Uganda) contributed to a KIU Titans' victory against the closely-ranked Ndejje Angels (6-3) 67-59 in the Ugandan NBL on Sunday night. He scored 8 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 24 minutes. KIU Titans Kampala (6-3) is placed fourth in the NBL. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Kazungu's overall stats are: 4.0ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.3spg in three games.

   #6. Denis Balungu (F-95, currently plays in Uganda) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ethienne Kazungu and both played together in the last Ugandan NBL game. Balungu led KIU Titans to a victory over the closely-ranked Ndejje Angels 67-59. He was the best player in that game. Balungu recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 12 rebounds. Balungu has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg and 8.6rpg.

   #7. Micheal Bwanga (G, currently plays in Uganda) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ethienne Kazungu. He played also in the last Ugandan NBL game facing Denis Balungu (above) in the other team. Bwanga was the major contributor in a KIU Titans' victory against the closely-ranked Ndejje Angels 67-59. He scored 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 34 minutes. Bwanga's stats this year are: 13.2ppg, 4.9rpg, 3.6apg and 2.0spg in nine games.

RUPHIN KAYEMBE ALM Evreux Basket (ProB) re-signed 26-year old Congolese international power forward Ruphin Kayembe (201-92). He is the second foreigner player in the roster as USA Jerrold Brooks signed here earlier. Kayembe has a double citizenship as he also holds Belgian passport. Calero de Potosi (Libobasquet) signed 28-year old American power forward Jon Cathey-Macklin (206-104kg-91, college: Tarleton State).
