Saint-Quentin Basket-Ball (Betclic ELITE ProA) signed 33-year-old Congolese small forward Giovan Oniangue for the upcoming season. He is the second foreign player on the team, with Dominik Olejniczak from Poland already on the roster. Oniangue last played for JDA Dijon Bourgogne in the French Betclic ELITE ProA, where he averaged 7.6ppg, 2.9rpg, and 1.2apg in 26 games last season. He also played 11 games in the Basketball Champions League, averaging 7.6ppg and 2.3rpg. Oniangue briefly played for Monaco as well.
Oniangue has attempted to reach the NBA and participated in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Eleven years ago, he represented Congo-Brazaville at the Afrobasket Championship in Abidjan (Ivory Coast). During this event, he scored an average of 14.8 points per game and had 4.8 rebounds per game.
Oniangue has spent his entire career in France playing for five other teams: Pau Lacq Orthez, Metropolitans, Gravelines Dunkerque, Entente Orleans 45, and Boulazac Basket.
