Metz-Ste Marie inks Loic Akono

Union Sainte Marie Metz Basket (NM2) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old naturalized Congolese point guard Loic Akono (176cm) for new 2021-22 season. He has played for the last three seasons at Boulogne in the NM1. In 22 games he had 6.3ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.0apg last season. NM2 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
Akono has spent his entire career in France playing for six other teams: Gravelines Dunkerque, Etendard de Brest, Provence Basket, JSF Nanterre, Entente Orleans 45 and Lille Metropole.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Akono's team made it to the NM1 Play-Offs Semifinals in 2019. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-French ProB Honorable Mention back in 2008 and 2014.
