Here is the weekly review of the top performing Central African players, who play currently abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former international center
Kevarrius Hayes (206-1997, college:
Florida, currently plays in Turkey). He led
Bursaspor to an easy victory against the league leader Fenerbahce (24-6) crushing them
97-77 in the Turkish BSL in Tuesday night's game.
Hayes scored 14 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 29 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. Frutti Extra Bursaspor (18-12) is placed seventh in the BSL.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
This year Hayes averages: 9.7ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.4bpg, 2FGP: 57.6%(110-191) and FT: 71.7% in 31 games he played so far.
He is a naturalized American.
Hayes played for the Central African senior national team year ago.
Strangely he has never played in Central Africa.
#2. Second place goes to former international small forward
Allan Dokossi (203-1999, currently plays in France). Dokossi led
Provence Basket to a victory against the 14th-ranked Le Portel (13-21)
83-79 in the French Betclic ELITE ProA last Tuesday.
He recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
FOS Provence Basket (3-11) is placed seventh in the Betclic ELITE ProA.
They ended the series of four consecutive loses.
The Regular Season already ended.
Dokossi's overall stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 54.7% and FT: 60.6%.
He has a dual citizenship: Central African and French.
Dokossi played for the Central African national team in 21.
#3. The Central African player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward
Johan Grebongo (203-1994, currently plays in France). He was the major contributor in
Mulhouse's victory against the seventh-ranked Lorient (2-10)
73-72 in the French NM1 (third division) on Friday night.
Grebongo recorded 12 points in 24 minutes.
Mulhouse Basket Agglomeration (7-11) is placed eighth in Group A.
This year Grebongo's overall stats are: 8.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 60.6%(123-203), 3FGP: 23.5% and FT: 54.0% in 39 games.
He played for the Central African national team year ago.
#4. Power forward
Jimmy Djimrabaye (203-1992, currently plays in France) managed to help Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole to win against the third-ranked Saint-Quentin (22-12)
77-65 in the French ProB (second division) in Monday night's game.
Djimrabaye scored only 2 points.
Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole (17-17) is placed eighth in the ProB.
It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses.
Djimrabaye's total stats this season are: 5.4ppg and 3.0rpg.
He used to play for the Central African national team
back in 21.
