Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Central Africans who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international small forward
Max Kouguere (198-1987, currently plays in BNXT-League). He led his Belgian team
Phoenix Brussels to a victory over the closely-ranked Yoast United (0-1)
89-81 in the BNXT League in Sunday night's game.
Kouguere was MVP of the game. He recorded 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 32 minutes on the court.
Phoenix Brussels Basketball (1-0) is placed eighth in the BNXT League.
Kouguere has relatively good stats this year: 12.7ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.7apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 55.7%(49-88), 3FGP: 35.2% and FT: 73.2% in 16 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Congolese and Central African.
Kouguere played for the Central African senior national team year ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international center
Kevarrius Hayes (206-1997, college:
Florida, currently plays in Turkey). He contributed to
Bursaspor's victory against the closely-ranked Tofas (12-10)
90-83 in a derby game in the Turkish BSL last Sunday.
Hayes scored 11 points, had 7 rebounds and made 3 blocks (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line).
Bursaspor Durmazlar (11-10) is placed tenth in the BSL.
This season Hayes averages: 8.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.4bpg, 2FGP: 59.4%(60-101) and FT: 71.0%.
He is a naturalized American.
Hayes played for the Central African national team in 21.
Strangely he has never played in Central Africa.
#3. The Central African player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward
Johndre Jefferson (207-1988, agency:
Inception Sports, college:
S.Carolina, currently plays in Uruguay). Jefferson could not help one of league's weakest teams
Nacional (8-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance Nacional lost
66-73 in a derby game to the higher-ranked (#9) Defensor.
Jefferson was the second best scorer with 11 points. He also added 9 rebounds in 33 minutes.
This year Jefferson has relatively solid stats: 15.0ppg, 9.5rpg, 1.1apg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 63.2%(117-185), 3FGP: 16.7% and FT: 74.0% in 21 games.
He is a naturalized American.
Jefferson played for the Central African national team year ago.
Apparently he has never played in Central Africa.
#4. Power forward
James Mays (205-1986, college:
Clemson, currently plays in South Korea) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams
Goyang Orions in their game against Anyang KGC (23-17) in the South Korean KBL. Despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game Mays was the top scorer with 22 points. He also added 4 rebounds.
Mays' overall stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.9apg.
He is a naturalized American.
Mays used to play for the Central African national team
back in 13. Interesting that he has never played in Central Africa.
#5. Former international small forward
Allan Dokossi (203-1999, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for
Provence Basket (1-7) in their game against Entente Orleans 45 (8-13) in the French Betclic ELITE ProA.
Dokossi scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 24 minutes.
But Provence Basket lost
74-82 on the road to the lower-ranked (#14) Entente Orleans 45.
It was Provence Basket's fifth consecutive loss in a row.
This year Dokossi's overall stats are: 8.0ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.7spg in 20 games.
He is another player who holds two passports: Central African and French.

#6. Power forward
Jimmy Djimrabaye (203-1992, currently plays in France) managed to help Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole to win against the 12th-ranked Aix-Maurienne (9-12)
80-66 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night.
He scored only 3 points.
Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole (10-7) is placed sixth in the ProB.
Djimrabaye's total stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 2.8rpg.
He is a former international player as he played for the Central African senior team year ago.
