James Mays
Inchon ET Land Elephants (KBL) agreed terms with 31-year old Central African power forward James Mays (206-104kg-86, college: Clemson). He played last summer at Guizhou in Chinese NBL league. In 25 games he had very impressive stats: 30.1ppg, 15.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.7spg. The last season Mays played at LG Sakers where in 53 KBL games he recorded also remarkable stats: 21.8ppg, 11.9rpg, 2.7apg and 1.9spg.
In 2008 he was drafted by Colorado 14ers (D-League) as #2 pick overall.
The former Clemson University standoutis in his tenth season in pro basketball.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Mays was voted Asia-Basket.com All-PBA Commissioner's Cup Defensive Player of the Year back in 2014. Strangely he also played for Central African National Team in 2013.
Mays played at the Arab Club Championships Quarterfinals two years ago.
He is quite experienced player. Mays' career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in nine different countries. Mays tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Dominican Rep., Italy (New Basket Brindisi), Philippines (Star Hotshots), Puerto Rico (Capitanes), Turkey (Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce and Maine Red Claws), United Arab Emirates (Al Shabab) and D-League (Springfield A.).
On Mays: Showed an improved ability to find open looks for teammates; one of the quickest post players in the conference and maybe in the entire country…has the ability to create crowd enthusiasm by turning in exciting plays…he's also a very good defender, sees well the court and passes the ball well.
