AfroBasket U16: Cameroon become the first Semifinalist

Cameroon U16 - Uganda U16 53-50

Cameroon U16 became the first semifinalist of the 2025 FIBA U16 AfroBasket after edging Uganda U16 in a nail-biting 53–50 victory. Cameroon started strong, building a 30–20 halftime lead thanks to disciplined defense and efficient shooting. Uganda roared back in the third quarter with a 16–11 run and kept the pressure on in the final minutes, outscoring Cameroon 14–12 in the last period. Despite the late surge, Cameroon held their nerve in crunch time to secure the narrow win and punch their ticket to the semifinals.
Nolan Ngangmeni (188-PG-2009) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Olivier Ngoumou (200-PF-2010) netted 11. Shane Kwizera (2010) replied with 19 points in a loss.
