Uganda responded with resilience after the break, matching Cameroon 16-16 in the third quarter and outscoring them 12-6 in the final period, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Despite Uganda’s late push, Cameroon’s strong first-half performance sealed the win in their tournament opener.
Nolan Ngangmeni top-scored for the winners with 13 points and Luther Maboula notched 11. Joshua Bwakanda and Pierre Laurent Rwuhiriro replied with 11 points apiece in a loss.
