Castello tabs Charles Minlend Jr.

Charles Minlend

Amics Castello (LEB Gold) signed 26-year-old American (who also holds a Cameroonian passport) 193cm guard Charles Minlend Jr. (college: Louisville) for the upcoming season. He last played for Cimarrones in the Colombian Liga WPlay, where he averaged 2.0ppg and 1.7rpg in three games last season. Prior to that, he played for Huelva Comercio Viridis in LEB Silver.
He also represented Cameroon at the FIBA World Cup 2023 African Qualifiers last year. During this event, he scored an average of 7.8 ppg and had 3.7 rpg.
Minlend has traveled quite extensively during his pro career, playing in three different continents - Europe, Africa, and North America. He has previously played professionally in Cameroon for Forces Armees et Police Basketball de Yaounde and in Spain for Zornotza.
Among many awards, he won the Cameroonian League championship title in 2022. Minlend was voted to the WCC All-Freshman Team back in 2017 during his college time.
He graduated from the University of Louisville in 2021 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball. Minlend played also for the University of San Francisco for 4 years.
