Mali pip Cameroon 52-51 in a thriller of the AfroBasket 2021. Mali played in their third Semi-Final in a row in the continental event and reached the Final this time.
Cameroon opened the game with a 19-12 run and led 3 points at the halftime. Mali replied with an 18-12 run in the third quarter. No matter how hard the hosts tried to recover, they could not win the game. Cameroon got within a single point late in regulation but Mali hung on to escape with a narrow win. Djeneba N'Diaye (165-PG-97) scored 12 points, while Kadidia Maiga (185-PF-97) notched 11 points in the win. Dulcy Fankam (193-F-99) answered with 12 points and 12 rebounds for Cameroon.
