Landry Nnoko selected the top Cameroonian playing abroad in last week's games

We bring you last week's top performances from Cameroonians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Landry Nnoko

   #1. This week's number one is former international center Landry Nnoko (208-94, college: Clemson, currently plays in ABA League). Nnoko contributed to a Crvena Zvezda's victory against the closely-ranked Mega (12-6) 92-85 in a derby game in the ABA League in Monday night's game. He scored 8 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists. KK Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (12-2) is placed third in the ABA League. This season Nnoko averages: 4.7ppg, 6.0rpg and FT: 66.7%. He played for the Cameroonian senior national team three years ago.

Kenny Kadji

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international forward Kenny Kadji (211-88, agency: Octagon Europe, college: Miami, FL, currently plays in Turkey). Kadji could not help Bursaspor in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance his team was defeated 84-77 in a derby game by the lower-ranked Tofas (#5). Kadji scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line). Kadji has relatively good stats this season: 14.1ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 58.5%(76-130), 3FGP: 35.5% and FT: 73.5%. He is in the roster of the Cameroonian senior national team.

Williams Narace

   #3. The Cameroonian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Williams Narace (201-97, currently plays in France). Narace helped Le Mans win their game against the 13th-ranked Chorale de Roanne (3-6) 97-84 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA last Friday. He scored 8 points. Le Mans Sarthe Basket (6-5) is placed fourth in the Jeep ELITE ProA. It's Narace's first season with the team. Narace's overall stats this year are: 9.2ppg, 4.0rpg, 2FGP: 60.4%(29-48) and FT: 59.3%. He is also a member of the Cameroonian senior national team.

Junior MBida

   #4. Center Junior MBida (206-90, currently plays in France) led Chalons-Reims to a victory against the fourth-ranked JL Bourg (7-3) 108-103 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Saturday night. MBida scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket (3-8) is placed 16th in the Jeep ELITE ProA. This year MBida's overall stats are: 5.4ppg and 2.7rpg in 11 games he played so far. He used to play for the Cameroonian national team back in 2015.

D.J. Strawberry

   #5. Former international shooting guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help UCAM Murcia in their game against Real Madrid (20-1) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Strawberry scored 6 points and had 3 steals. UCAM Murcia was defeated 98-87 on the road by the leading Real Madrid. It was UCAM Murcia's fifth consecutive loss in a row. Strawberry's total stats this season are: 5.9ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.8apg. He has a dual citizenship: Cameroonian and American. Strawberry used to play for the Cameroonian national team three years ago.

Benoit Mbala

   #6. Forward Benoit Mbala (200-95, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Aix-Maurienne (2-6) in their game against Saint-Quentin (5-3) in the French ProB (second division). Despite his very good performance on Thursday night He was the second best scorer with 15 points. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Mbala has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg and 3.0rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Cameroonian National Team roster.

Gedeon Pitard

   #7. International point guard Gedeon Pitard (186-89, currently plays in France) couldn't help Olympique Antibes (3-6) in their game against Lille Metropole (3-5) in the French ProB (second division). Pitard scored only 4 points and added 8 passes in 33 minutes. Olympique Antibes lost 58-68 in Lille to the higher-ranked (#13) Metropole. It was Olympique Antibes' fourth consecutive loss in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Pitard's total stats are: 8.9ppg, 3.2rpg, 5.4apg and 1.9spg in nine games. He is also Cameroonian national team player.

Samir Gbetkom Bikantchou

   #8. Guard Samir Gbetkom Bikantchou (191-98, currently plays in France) helped JA Vichy edge the closely-ranked Sluc Nancy (5-4) 100-98 in the French ProB (second division) last Friday. Gbetkom Bikantchou scored 10 points in 18 minutes. Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole (5-4) is placed sixth in the ProB. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. Jeremy Nzeulie

   #9. Former international shooting guard Jeremy Nzeulie (188-91, currently plays in France) couldn't help the league outsider Boulazac Basket (0-8) in their game against JSF Nanterre (4-4) in the French Jeep ELITE ProA. Nzeulie cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only one point. The bottom-ranked Boulazac Basket was crushed 96-74 in Nanterre by the much higher-ranked JSF Nanterre (#10). So far Boulazac Basket lost all eight games in the Regular Season. Nzeulie has averaged so far 4.5ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.5apg. He used to play for the Cameroonian national team three years ago.

Arnaud-William Adala Moto

   #10. Forward Arnaud-William Adala Moto (198-93, agency: Duran International, college: Towson, currently plays in Spain) helped Castello edge the sixth-ranked Basquet (7-7) 74-72 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Sunday night. Adala Moto scored 11 points and added 3 assists in a mere 17 minutes. TAU Castello (11-3) is placed first in Group B. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Adala Moto has reliable stats this year: 11.8ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.2spg in 14 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Cameroonian National Team roster.

   #11. International power forward Franck Yangue Tankeu (205-90, agency: Inception Sports, currently plays in France) helped Andrezieux win their game against the seventh-ranked STB Le Havre 87-72 in the French NM1 (third division) on Friday night. Former international forward Arsene Towa (191-81, currently plays in Finland) helped HNMKY win their game against the tenth-ranked MuKi crushing them 84-55 in a derby game in the Finnish 1st Division (second division) on Sunday night. Towa recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 20 minutes. Towa has averaged so far 9.5ppg, 9.0rpg, 3.2apg and 2.4spg in 13 games. He used to play for the Cameroonian national team ten years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Cameroonian passport but never been selected to any of Cameroonian national teams:

   #1. Pascal Siakam (206-F-94, college: NM State, currently plays in NBA) led Toronto Raptors to a victory over the Brooklyn Nets (14-11) 123-117 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Siakam had a double-double by scoring 33 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 6 assists and 3 steals in 39 minutes. The Toronto Raptors have 11-13 record this season. It's Siakam's fifth year with the team. Siakam has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.2ppg, 7.8rpg, 4.6apg and 1.1spg in 21 games he played so far.

   #2. Joel Embiid (213-C-94, college: Kansas, currently plays in NBA) was the main contributor in a Philadelphia 76ers' victory against the Charlotte Hornets (12-13) 118-111 in the NBA last Wednesday. Embiid was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points and getting 11 rebounds. The Philadelphia 76ers have a solid 17-7 record this season. It's Embiid's seventh year with the team. This year Embiid has very high stats. He averages: 29.3ppg, 10.7rpg, 2.7apg, 1.2bpg and 1.4spg.

   #3. Experienced Nicolas Batum (203-SF-88, currently plays in NBA) could not help the Los Angeles Clippers (17-8) in their last game. Despite Batum's very good performance the Los Angeles Clippers (17-8) lost 120-124 on the road to the Brooklyn Nets. He scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 38 minutes. It's Batum's first season with the team. Batum has relatively good stats this year: 10.2ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg in 24 games. He has a dual citizenship: French and Cameroonian.

   #4. Philippe Bayehe (204-C/F-99, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Cantu (2-1) in their last game. Despite Bayehe's very good performance the league leader Cantu lost 75-80 in Venezia to the leading Umana. He had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds in 31 minutes. This year Bayehe's overall stats are: 3.3ppg and 2.3rpg in 19 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Cameroonian and Italian.

   #5. Roland Nyama (198-SF-93, college: Stony Brook, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Walter Tigers (1-2) in their last game. Despite Nyama's very good performance Walter Tigers lost 103-113 in Allmendingen to the much lower-ranked (#13) Ehingen/Urspringschule. He was the top scorer with 19 points. Nyama also added 3 assists in 24 minutes. This year Nyama's overall stats are: 8.7ppg and 1.7rpg in 15 games. He has both Cameroonian and German nationalities. Despite Nyama's Cameroonian passport, he previously played for the German U16 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Cameroonian team.

   #6. Christian Koloko (213-C-0, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Arizona in their game against the University of Utah in the NCAA. He scored 9 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 24 minutes. His team lost 58-73. This year Koloko's total stats are: 5.3ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.5bpg in 19 games.

   #7. Franck Kepnang (208-C-1, currently studies in the States) contributed to Oregon's surprising victory against the The University of Washington 86-74 in the NCAA last Saturday. Kepnang recorded 8 points and blocked 2 blocks. This season Kepnang averages only 3.8ppg.

   #8. Rodrigue Andela (203-F-99, is currently at the American university) contributed to a 2-point Oregon St.'s victory against the Washington State University 68-66 in the NCAA on Saturday night. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in only 14 minutes. Andela has averaged so far 3.8ppg and 4.4rpg in 17 games.

   #9. Ralph Temgoua (194-G-87, college: St.Lawrence, currently plays in France) contributed to Tours' victory against the fourth-ranked Rueil 94-84 in the French NM1 (third division) in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Temgoua recorded 25 points and added 6 passes. Temgoua has reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.3apg. He also holds two passports: Cameroonian and French.

Jonathan Tchatchoua (203-F-99, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Baylor University to win against the The University of Texas 83-69 in the NCAA on Tuesday night. Tchatchoua scored only 2 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Tchatchoua has averaged so far 7.8ppg and 6.4rpg. He has Australian and Cameroonian nationalities.
