Tia Weledji (ex Sheffield H.) is a newcomer at Plasencia

LF2 newcomer Extremadura Miralvalle Plasencia strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old Cameroonian swingman Tia Weledji (178-78kg-96, college: Princeton). She played most recently at Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters in British WBBL. In four games she recorded 10.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.8apg last season. Weledji also spent pre-season at Genero that year.
She also represented Cameroon at the Francophonie Games (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) three years ago.
Weledji has played also professionally in Caledonia Pride.
Among many awards her team made it to the Scottish Cup final in 2019. Weledji received also Eurobasket.com All-English WBBL Honorable Mention award in 2019.
Worth to mention she played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her to get the job in pro basketball.
She attended Princeton University until 2018 and it will be her third season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe her following way: Dynamic big guard who can score from various locations on the floor - can get to the rim off the dribble or on a post up, can pull-up mid range, and can hit the three. Sees the court well and is able to create shots for teammates. Can play the 1, 2, 3, and sometimes 4 on offense and likewise, is able to guard various positions on defense.
