We bring you last week's top performances from Cameroonians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Kenny Kadji (211-88, college: Miami, FL, currently plays in Turkey). Kadji was the major contributor in Tofas' victory against the league outsider Istanbul BBSK (2-13) 87-82 in the Turkish BSL last Saturday. He scored 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Tofas Bursa (10-8) is placed third in the BSL. Kadji has relatively good stats this season: 12.1ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 48.4%, 3FGP: 37.0% and FT: 77.8%. He is currently a member of the Cameroonian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Landry Nnoko (208-94, college: Clemson, currently plays in Germany). He led ALBA Berlin to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked BBC Bayreuth (9-8) 86-68 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. Nnoko recorded 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. ALBA Berlin (12-4) is placed fourth in the BBL. This season Nnoko averages: 10.0ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 70.7%(29-41) and FT: 85.7%. He is in the roster of the Cameroonian senior national team.

   #3. The Cameroonian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Jeremy Nzeulie (188-91, currently plays in France). Nzeulie contributed to a SIG Strasbourg's victory against the league leader Cholet Basket (18-1) 96-82 in the French Jeep ELITE last Saturday. He recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (made all of his six free throws) in 25 minutes. SIG Strasbourg (11-8) is placed fifth in the Jeep ELITE. This year Nzeulie's overall stats are: 7.9ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 43.8%, 3FGP: 27.7% and FT: 72.7% in 19 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Cameroonian and French. Nzeulie is also a member of the Cameroonian senior national team.

Aldo Curti

   #4. Point guard Aldo Curti (180-87, currently plays in France) could not help Souffelweyersheim (20-2) in their last game. Despite Curti's very good performance the second-placed Souffelweyersheim (20-2) lost 65-70 on the road to the leading Saint-Quentin in the Group A. He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Curti also added 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in 35 minutes. They ended the series of eighteen consecutive victories. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Curti's first season with the team. This year his total stats are: 8.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 5.2apg and 1.3spg in 19 games. Curti is another player who holds two passports: Cameroonian and French. He used to play for the Cameroonian national team back in 2015.

   #5. An experienced international shooting guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to help Gran Canaria (6-15) in their last game on Friday. Despite Strawberry's good performance Gran Canaria was edged 106-104 at home by the higher-ranked Armani Milano (#9). He scored 10 points and added 3 assists. Strawberry has averaged so far 8.5ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.0apg. He has both American and Cameroonian nationalities. Strawberry plays currently for the Cameroonian national team.

   #6. Center Gaston Essengue (203-83, college: UNLV, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Quilmes MP (2-9) in their last game. Despite his good performance Quilmes MP lost 77-83 in Buenos Aires to the much higher-ranked (#6) Obras Basket. Essengue recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in a mere 17 minutes. It was Quilmes MP's fourth consecutive loss in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Essengue has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.3apg in six games. He is a former international player as he played for the Cameroonian senior team four years ago.

   #7. International forward Frank Tchoubaye (198-92, currently plays in France) is a teammate of previously mentioned Aldo Curti and both played together in the last French NM1 game. Tchoubaye couldn't help Souffelweyersheim (20-2) in their game against Saint-Quentin (21-1). Despite his very good performance on Sunday night He was the top scorer with 19 points. Tchoubaye also added 4 rebounds. This season Tchoubaye has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.5apg and 1.7spg. He is also Cameroonian national team player.

   #8. Center Junior MBida (206-90, currently plays in France) led Entente Orleans 45 to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Caen (4-13) 74-58 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game. MBida scored 11 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 24 minutes. Entente Orleans 45 (12-5) is placed third in the ProB. MBida has averaged so far 7.8ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.5bpg in 17 games. He used to play for the Cameroonian national team back in 2015.

   #9. International guard Gedeon Pitard (188-89, currently plays in France) couldn't help Chalons-Reims (12-7) in their game against JSF Nanterre (8-11) in the French Jeep ELITE. Despite his good performance last Monday Pitard scored 12 points and added 4 passes. Pitard has averaged so far 5.2ppg, 2.1rpg and 2.3apg. Despite he played previously for the French U18 national team, Pitard is currently in the Cameroonian national team roster.

   #10. Forward Benoit Mbala (203-95, currently plays in France) couldn't help Aix-Maurienne (6-11) in their game against Denain Voltaire (7-10) in the French ProB (second division), despite his good performance last Friday. Mbala was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. It was his first game for Aix-Maurienne this season. But Aix-Maurienne was edged 68-67 in Denain by the higher-ranked (#12) Voltaire. It was Aix-Maurienne's sixth consecutive loss in a row. Mbala is an international player who is currently on the senior Cameroonian National Team roster.

   #11. International forward Williams Narace (201-97, currently plays in France) managed to help Sluc Nancy Basket Pro to win against the league leader Chorale de Roanne 86-70 in the French ProB (second division) on Saturday night. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Narace has averaged so far 6.9ppg and 4.4rpg. He plays currently for the Cameroonian national team.

   #12. Former international forward Harding NaNa (203-81, college: Delaware, currently plays in Switzerland) couldn't help Swiss Central in their game against Starwings in the Swiss SBL, despite his good performance in Sunday night's game. NaNa scored 10 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 33 minutes. But his team was edged 67-65. NaNa has reliable stats this year: 11.3ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.9apg in seven games. He used to play for the Cameroonian national team back in 2015.

   #13. International forward Arnaud-William Adala Moto (198-93, agency: Duran International, college: Towson, currently plays in France) helped JA Vichy win their game against the eighth-ranked ADA Blois 89-74 in the French ProB (second division) on Saturday night. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 14 minutes. Adala Moto has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 2.8rpg in 17 games. He is also Cameroonian national team player.


The list of other players, who all have Cameroonian passport but never been selected to any of Cameroonian national teams:

   #1. Joel Embiid (213-C-94, college: Kansas, currently plays in NBA) could not help the Philadelphia 76ers (34-19) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Philadelphia 76ers (34-19) lost 108-115 at home to the Sacramento Kings. Embiid had a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 17 rebounds. He also added 4 blocks in 39 minutes. It's Embiid's fifth season with the team. Embiid has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 27.2ppg, 13.5rpg, 3.6apg and 1.9bpg in 49 games he played so far.

   #2. Pascal Siakam (206-F-94, college: N.Mexico St., currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Toronto Raptors (38-16) in their last game. Despite Siakam's very good performance the Toronto Raptors (38-16) lost 92-105 on the road to the Milwaukee Bucks. He was the top scorer with 28 points. Siakam also added 3 passes in 38 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Siakam has very impressive stats this year: 15.4ppg, 6.9rpg and 2.8apg in 53 games.

   #3. JP Tokoto (198-F-93, college: N.Carolina, currently plays in Israel) was not able to secure a victory for Hapoel Eilat (11-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Hapoel Eilat was edged 82-80 in Nes Ziyona by the lower-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (#6). Tokoto recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 3 steals. This season Tokoto has relatively solid stats: 14.6ppg, 6.9rpg, 3.1apg and 2.0spg. He has a dual citizenship: Cameroonian and American.

   #4. Nicolas Batum (203-SF-88, currently plays in NBA) led Charlotte Hornets to a victory against the Chicago Bulls (12-41) 125-118 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Batum scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 31 minutes. The Charlotte Hornets have 26-26 record this season. It's Batum's fourth year with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 9.4ppg, 5.2rpg and 3.3apg in 52 games. Batum is another player who holds two passports: French and Cameroonian.

   #5. Paul Biligha (200-C/F-90, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) contributed to an Umana Venezia's victory against the fifth-ranked JSF Nanterre (7-6) 89-80 in the Basketball Champions League last Wednesday. He recorded 6 points. Umana Reyer Venezia (9-4) is placed second in group B. Biligha's team will play only one more game in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Biligha's total stats this season are: 2.9ppg and 1.5rpg. He has both Cameroonian and Italian nationalities.

   #6. Ralph Temgoua (194-G-87, college: St.Lawrence, currently plays in France) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Besancon crushing them 96-56 in the French NM1 (third division) on Tuesday night. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 22 minutes. Temgoua has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.2apg in 21 games. He also holds two passports: Cameroonian and French.

   #7. Experienced Tcheussi Aristide Mouaha (190-G-0, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Roma S.Azzurra in their game against Roma Luiss in the Italian Serie B (third division). Despite his very good performance in Thursday night's game Mouaha was the top scorer with 24 points. He also added 7 rebounds. This season Mouaha has very high stats. He averages: 16.7ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.7apg and 2.1spg.

   #8. Johan Bitjaa Kody (207-C-93, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Caceres Basket in their game against Lleida Basquet in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Despite his good performance last Friday Bitjaa Kody scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). Bitjaa Kody has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 3.2rpg.

   #9. Samuel Dingba (196-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Vermont's victory against the University of Massachusetts - Lowell 74-65 in the NCAA on Saturday night. He recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks in 17 minutes. Dingba has averaged so far 2.9ppg and 3.7rpg in 18 games.

   #10. Paul Herman Eboua (203-F/C-0, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a Roseto Sharks' victory against the fifth-ranked Unieuro Forli 84-76 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) in Wednesday night's game. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Eboua has averaged so far 5.3ppg and 3.1rpg.

Condor Basketball Club crowned Champions - 4 days ago
Condor Basketball Club crowned Champions finishing with a 4-2 record in the Final Four Stage. In the second round they first beat FAP 79:74 as the latter finished second with the same record. In Day 2 Conor overcame UDLA 104:81 and then did not mind a 70-80 loss from Ecole de Basket. Both UDLA and Ecole de Basket ended up with 2-4 records.   [read more]
