Burkinabe Aristide Sawadogo (213-C-81, agency: 22ft, college: Clayton St.) participated in Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas. The ESL in Las Vegas featured the most seven footers and players over 6'9' than any other summer exposure event for the international market. The variety of scouts that attended on Tuesday night were very impressed by the talent level assembled by the ESL. In the first game Venice stormed back against Brussels after being down by nine points at half time to earn an 86:76 victory. During the first half Venice controlled the game and seem destined to play in the Championship game on Thursday but Brussels had a different plan. However the outstanding defense, shooting and guard play from the Brussels team controlled the second half as they outscored Venice 54:35 in the period. Brussels had a balance attack as all ten players scored between a minimum of 6 points with Temi Soyebo leading the way with 15 points. They shot and amazing 65% from the field and well over 50% from the 3pt line in the second period. There big guy Aristide Sawadogo was a defensive force in the middle blocking and altering shots all night which made the Venice team very hesitant to enter the paint. Burkinabe player ended up with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 blocks.
In the ESL Championship Monaco erased a twenty point deficit to storm back and crush the Brussels team 97:75. The game started out with Brussels storming out of the gate as Tim Morris and Bennet Davis were just destroying Monaco and most scouts thought the game was probably a mismatch.
Aristide Sawadogo participated also in Dakota Wizards (D-League) training camp in 2007. He was drafted by Dakota Wizards (D-League,5rd(58)). In December 2007 acquired by Utah Flash (D-League) where he played 8 games. In February 2008 moved to Iowa Energy (D-League) and played 10 games there.
