ASFA-Y # AS-Sonabhy
Everybody was waiting for this match to know who is who... after the changes in all the teams, the public wanted to know who is the new favourite of the championship. Another change in the female competition is that coach Michel PACERE went to the amazons of ASFA-Y. The petroliers of coach BALDE started faster with Marietou KOULIBALY, Diane PODA, Sonia BASSOLET, Alice KONE and A. KIENTEGA. The starting five of the amazons was: Mariam TRAORE, Adeline KONDE, Danya SOMDA, Samira OUEDRAOGO and Joceline NYANKENE.
The first and the second quarter were dominated by the petroliers as they took advance, sometimes, with 14 points. Diane PODA, Inoue KUNIKO and their teammates did the show. At the halftime the score was: 14-25 for the petroliers.
In the third and fourth quarter, substitution after substitution, Coach Michel found the best combination to reduce the score. The man to man defence changed and became a zone defence. Slowly, they reduce the score. At the end of the third quarter there was only 2 points between the two teams. In the fourth quarter, the amazons played faster and defend hard; Mariam TRAORE, Danya SOMDA and Honorine NOUDOFININ found the way to score. They won by 43-39.

The first team of the capital did not work hard to win the match! Face to the little team of ASTY, the amazons did many substitutions as they want to give time of play to the young players of the team. Nothing to say, just a training match for ASFA-Y.
