AS-Sonabel # ADESIF
After winning easily the semi-final against RCB, the electricians have to play against ADESIF (last year champion). In semi-final, against asfay, the players of coach SANOU (ADESIF) got many difficulties against the young team of coach NIKIEMA (ASFA-Y). They won by 37-32.
AS-Sonabel # ADESIF, it's a classic final since 6 years.
Mariam TRAORE, Sonia BASSOLET, Honorine NOUDOFININ, Claudine TIOYE and Yolande OUEDRAOGO at the starting five against Mariam HAIDARA, Andrea OUEDRAOGO, Fatimata OUEDRAOGO, Aimee DAMA and Beatrice OUATTARA for ADESIF. Individual defence for AS-Sonabel and zone (2-1-2) for ADESIF.
We thought that the electricians will speedup the game as in all their matches (coast to coast, fast break). They score faster, but soon, the machine has injuries and ADESIF took the first quarter by 14-9. Nobody can stop Andrea and HAIDARA scores easily face to her defenders. Everybody thought that the scenario of last year is in the place.
In the second quarter, Marie Jo (electrician) substituted Yolande. She scored 4 times succesively and permit to her team to control the match. That's awoke the team and Mariam TRAORE begun her show.
In the third quarter, the visitors change defense. Beatrice took Mariam in individual. This stoped the electricians.
For the fourth quarter, same defence. But a new offense system, with fastbtreak, coast to coast and blocks by the electricians was the key. Mariam plays with her defenders and Lynn ZENDONG, at the fourth quarter, took advantage of spaces let by the defense on mariam. Alice KONE is on fire and Claudine TIOYE (the captain) took a long shoot at the buzzer and scores it. End of the game
Without playing a big match, AS-Sonabel is the new female champion of Faso Basket.
