Botswana Updates

In the women's league, Police and BDF V will face each other in what usually turns out to be an exciting duel. The rivalry between the two sides has grown over the years as they dominate women's basketball in the country. Though the league has been completed without a sponsor, Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) spokesperson, Thulie Jankey said there were a lot of positives from the competition. He hailed players for showing commitment despite the absence of financial incentives. He expressed disappointment with some clubs, which failed to fulfill fixtures. He said they managed to deal with the defaulters and they do not expect a repeat as the BBA has come up with stringent regulations. Jankey said they will try by all means to start the next season on time so that they do not have a fixture congestion towards the end. He said they are still hopeful that they will secure a sponsor for next season.
