Regular Season Round 9: S.Panthers - MBB 64-68

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Johannesburg. Third ranked MBB faced 4th placed Panthers. Guests from (2-1) defeated host Panthers (1-3) 68-64. MBB forced 20 S.Panthers turnovers. Strangely S.Panthers outrebounded MBB 64-44 including a 29-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Thabo Sithole who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Celumusa Khumalo (193-1988) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ntshuxeko Manyani who recorded 8 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Sicelo Dzingwa (195-1999) added 23 points respectively. MBB moved-up to second place, which they share with Egoli Magic and L.Pride. S.Panthers at the other side keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Tshwane S.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
