Regular Season Round 9: FS Warriors - MBB 57-61

Bottom-rankedWarriors (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 61-57 loss to third ranked MBB (2-1) in Bloemfontein. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. MBB forced 21 FS Warriors turnovers. Strangely FS Warriors outrebounded MBB 55-38 including 44 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for the former international guard Celumusa Khumalo (193-1988) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Thabo Gumede (180) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Center Khotso Mahloane (203-1992) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Job Mashwabathi (195) added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for FS Warriors. Warriors' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MBB moved-up to second place, which they share with Egoli Magic and L.Pride. FS Warriors at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost.
