BNL top team - Tigers (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Warriors (1-4) in Bloemfontein 107-36. Tigers held Warriors to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Tigers forced 32 Warriors turnovers and outrebounded them 56-40 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Warriors' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 9 blocks. The former international Pieter Prinsloo (208-1992, college: Marist) fired 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. American guard Akeem Springs (193-1994, college: Minnesota) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Tigers' coach Rasheed Abdulrahman felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Prince Dube (200-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Job Mashwabathi (195) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Tigers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Tigers maintains first position with 5-0 record, which they share with Tshwane S. Warriors lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Egoli Magic and NW Eagles.
