Regular Season Round 9: KZ Marlins - EC Windbreakers 105-59

An interesting game for Marlins (2-1) which hosted in Kwazulu 4th placed Windbreakers (0-3). First ranked Marlins had an easy win 105-59. Marlins dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Windbreakers' 38. Marlins forced 21 Windbreakers turnovers and outrebounded them 38-22 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Windbreakers' players. Swingman Sifiso Gininda (186-1998) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Sibusiso Cele (175) chipped in 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five Marlins players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Julian Wright (196-1990) with 25 points and swingman Siyabulela Mteto (162-1991) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Marlins went down to third position due to points difference. Windbreakers at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with NC Zebras. Marlins will play against Eagles (#4) in Potchefstroom in the next round. Windbreakers will play at home against Zebras and hope to get finally their first victory.
