Regular Season Round 11: NC Zebras - Tshwane S. 41-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in . 4th placed host NC Zebras (2-3) were smashed by second ranked Tshwane S. (4-1) 77-41. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of NC Zebras. Tshwane S. held NC Zebras to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Tshwane S. forced 33 NC Zebras turnovers and outrebounded them 53-39 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by NC Zebras' players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Pumla Sathula (175-1984, college: Hamilton) who led the winners and scored 7 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Charmaine Amoda accounted for 6 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. Tshwane S.'s coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ilunga Mbula came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and Mamotsoari Mofokeng added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for NC Zebras in the defeat. Tshwane S. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with WC Mountaineers. NC Zebras at the other side keep the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with M.Rhinos. Tshwane S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. NC Zebras will play again against the league's leader Tshwane S. (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
