Regular Season Round 11: Tshwane S. - EC Windbreakers 70-41

Date: July 2, 2023
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tshwane S. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tshwane S. smashed bottom-ranked Windbreakers at home 70-41. Tshwane S. dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Windbreakers' 22. Tshwane S. forced 40 Windbreakers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Windbreakers' players. It was a great evening for Zimbabwean swingman Fadzai Mabasa (170-1983) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. The former international swingman Pumla Sathula (175-1984, college: Hamilton) helped adding 4 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Boitumelo Ramakau responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Keatlegile Ramorwesi scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tshwane S. have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with WC Mountaineers. Windbreakers at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Windbreakers will play next round against Rhinos trying to get back on the winning streak. Tshwane S. will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked NC Zebras on the road.
