Regular Season Round 6: Tshwane S. - NW Eagles 96-43

Rather expected game when 4th ranked Eagles (0-2) were smashed by top-ranked Suns (4-0) in Tshwane 96-43 on Sunday. Suns dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 28. Suns forced 38 Eagles turnovers. DR Congolese forward Josias Bantaleka (196-2002) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Gabonese swingman Gleen Bidza (193-1996) supported him with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Five Suns players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by Manasse Kabasele did not help to save the game for Eagles. Lebogang Bassie (192-1989) added 6 points and 6 rebounds. Eagles' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Suns have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Loser Eagles still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with EC Windbreakers. Suns will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Eagles will play against Windbreakers (#4) in Johannesburg and look forward to get finally their first victory.
