Top-ranked WC Mountaineers blasted bottom-ranked Rhinos (0-2) in Mbombela 78-47 keeping the perfect record after 6 rounds. Rhinos is still unable to win any game. WC Mountaineers dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Rhinos' 20. WC Mountaineers forced 21 Rhinos turnovers and outrebounded them 50-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for Corinne Moussi who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Talita Memani contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Rachel Ngona replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Nocwaka Luke added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rhinos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (2-0) keeps a position of league leader. Rhinos at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Eastern Cape W.. WC Mountaineers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rhinos will play at home against Tshwane S. (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
